The Red Sea is one of the most beautiful diving areas in the world. It's famous for its awesome coral reefs and amazing variety of fish species found only meters from the shore.

Dahab
lies along the deepest section of the African rift, the giant crack in the earth's crust that formed the Red Sea, creating a geologically unique dive environment. Because the reef is hugging the coast, we're able to dive from shore. With a few exceptions you simply drive along the shore by jeep or pick-up truck, gear up on the beach and start your dive.

This is not only a lot of fun, it also means greater flexibility in your dive schedule, since there's no boat to catch; transport to the dive site can leave at any time of the day and you can go back as soon as you're ready to leave. Sphinx Divers has daily guided dives going to all Dahab's dive sites (max 6 divers per group), the choice of the day depending on sea conditions, dive level and interest of the divers.

Boat Dives

Always wanted to dive a wreck? One of the famous wrecks of WWII, the Thistlegorm, is laying in the waters right off the coast of Sharm el Sheikh! The evening before the dives, you'll drive out to the boat, where you'll spend the night. The boat leaves early morning, so that by the time you're awake and ready to dive, you've reached your destination. You'll be making two dives on the wreck, both to 30m. Then, while you're eating lunch, the boat takes you to a dive site in Ras Mohamed National Park, where you'll be making your third dive of the day. You'll spend a few "decompression" hours in Sharm, relaxing and talking about events of the day, before returning "home" to Dahab.

Camel Safari

Combine two of Dahab's favorites by going on a Camel Dive Safari, a truly unique experience! Early morning, the jeeps will take you as far south or north along the coast as they can get on four wheels. The Bedouin will be there, waiting for you with their camels, ready to take you and your equipment for the second leg of the journey to the dive site. And while you're enjoying your morning dive, they will cook you a wonderful Bedouin lunch! Back to the water after lunch for your second dive of the day, and before you know it, you're riding back at a leisurely pace, looking at the sun setting over the mountains…

Ras Mohamed

In the National Park Ras Mohamed you can find some of the most beautiful diving spots of the Red Sea. We will start in the early morning for a two hour drive in a minibus to reach our first diving spot, the Shark Reef.

Along steep walls with no ground and many corals on them we get to the Yolanda Reef named by the cargo-steamer which sank here into unreachable depth.

After a quick picnic we will dive at the Shark Observatory. Here also we dive in a breathtaking Drop off where we can see lots of soft corals. Surely you should sometimes take a look into the blue water because there is a good reason for the name of the diving spot. After a relaxing 'deco pause' in Sharm we will go back through the sunset which colours the mountains red.
